The Children Cope With Parental Separation Seminar is a 2-part program designed for petitioners and respondents filing for divorce, custody, visitation and guardianship in Delaware Family Courts. This is a mandatory educational program for parents with children 17 years or younger. The classes are designed to help parents/caregivers learn how to best support their children during times of family change. Each class meets for 3 hours on two consecutive weeks. A court required Certificate of Completion is issued at the conclusion of the second class. Individuals with a demonstrable history of domestic violence are required to attend an additional 2 hour component that focuses on issues related to intimate partner violence and the impact of violence on children. The domestic violence component is available at an additional charge. There are a limited number of scholarship seats available.
